Salone del Mobile 2019 marked the unveiling of a contemporary furniture range from Lago. The pieces, each designed with great love for and awareness of the future, are now available at Misura.

When Misura opened first opened its doors in 2013, it did so with aspirations to become a destination furniture retailer. The vision was clear and simple; to offer something fresh and different to the high-end residential furniture market. Since inception, the proudly Australian company has continuously fine-tuned its collection according to local tastes and desires. Sourcing luxurious, contemporary furniture pieces from only the best designers, manufacturers and suppliers Europe has to offer, Misura’s collection is an impeccable showcase of stylish, functional, and design conscious furniture items.

Amongst the latest additions to Misura’s world-class furniture collection is a new range from Italian furniture designer and manufacturer, Lago.

Tracing back to the late nineteenth century, Lago’s history is rich with nobility and artisanship – two qualities that remain evident in its products today. Seeing design not only as a means for creating beautiful objects, but also as a tool for social transformation, Lago designs to bring positive change to the way spaces are experienced and generate empathy between interiors and the people who use them.

Every year, for Milan’s Design Week, Lago delves into a current topic, exploring and describing it using the language of design. This year, Lago has decided to look to the future with “Never Stop Respecting Tomorrow”, an idea exploring the theme of sustainability, interpreting it through the broader concept of respect. The resulting range of furniture is sleek, contemporary, tactful, and often – at least at first glimpse – defiant of physics.

P&J Table

Designed by Daniele Lago, the P&J table is distinguished by its one fluid form, extended across just two supports. The ultra thin tabletop features bullnose corners and connects seamlessly to the wooden legs on either end of the table, to create a fluid, harmonious piece. The woodwork technique used for the frame and the two almost intangible glass legs in the centre of the table ensure stability and provide increased resistance to knocks and impact.

U Table

The U Table is yet another masterfully balanced piece from the range designed by Daniele Lago, The timeless architectural invention of the bow has been overturned to create the stand for this table, bringing a contemporary look to a classical form. The ultra lightweight top comes in three different sizes and is available in oak Wildwood, Haywood or Agewood, lacquered glass or XGlass.

Taking the range into the bedroom, is the Air Bed, also designed Daniele Lago. The floating, almost ethereal appearance of the Air Bed is created by the absolute transparency of the tempered glass that supports it. Suspended on four nearly invisible glass legs, the bed seems to levitate off the ground, evoking the sense of sleeping upon a cloud.

Janeiro Table

Accompanying the P&J table, U Table, and Air Bed in the range of Lago pieces now available at Misura is the 36e8 Sideboard range and TV Unit, Janiero table, and Lago wardrobe. Each piece is as elegant and refined as the last, and with highly customisable finishes, each piece is perfectly suited to almost any interior.
