The Deerubbin Architecture Weekend Is Back For 2018

Architecture Foundation Australia’s Deerubbin weekend is returning in 2018, with an eye towards how we design for DenCITY + CommUNITY.

This event separates itself from the typical, big impersonal architecture conferences, where participants often end up simply spending time with their friends and don’t get to meet other people, let alone see the guest speakers. The Deerubbin weekend takes an all together approach, ensuring that all participants stay together and get a chance to meet each other and the guest speakers.

The Deerubbin event takes place over the Friday to Sunday, 16-18 of March in 2018. Visitors will enjoy a residential weekend on the beautiful Milson Island on the Hawkesbury River north of Sydney. Speakers and participants alike stay at the Milson Island Sport and Recreation Centre, with accommodation and meals included in the conference fee.

The highlight of the 2018 event takes the form of a conference about cities, how we live in them, and how we can create communities. The conference will look at ground-breaking examples and explore possibilities for better urban housing.
