Now in its fifth year, DESIGN:MADE:TRADE has become a hot spot for emerging designers. Balancing a cutting edge consumer market atmosphere with trade opportunity, the event acts as a platform to help build business partnerships and gives designers the chance for profile elevation.
Located at the iconic Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne, DESIGN:MADE:TRADE 2012 features 90+ innovative exhibitors across; product design, graphic design, textiles, software, lighting, furniture, fashion, landscape design, accessories and handmade objects.

Bringing together a diverse range of design disciplines, this year’s fair will include everything from the superior craftsmanship of Furniture designers, Anton Gerner and Caja to the sublime work of gold and silversmith Alison Jackson and the fine jewellery of label Zefyr. Beautiful products for everyday use will also feature from Hasa Design, Ute, Noddy Boffin and Dorothy and Evelyn along with ethical fashion and textiles from Uimi, Designed in Brunswick, The Dharma Door, Ink & Spindle, New Model Beauty Queen, Kambamboo and recycled delights from The Farmers Daughter. Work from some of Australia’s leading artisans from Design Island in Tasmania, Jam Factory in Adelaide and Illuminiglass in Melbourne is not to be missed.

In addition to a diverse and inspiring range of products to view, visitors can add to their experience through a number of engaging seminars and programs, including Contemporary Custom Lighting Solutions by Dean Gaylor of Mance Design, Sustainable Design Principles in Theory and Practice by Justin Hutchinson of Justin Hutchinson Design and Global Design Trends and the Curatorial Experience by Suzanne Trocmé, curator of the London Design Festival.
