Capas ('layers' in Spanish) is the cardboard furniture range designed by Peruvian Architect Luis Gomez Siu.

CAPAS furniture was created when designer Luis Gomez Siu decided to replicate a chair previously designed by him and that was originally made with a traditional timber frame, a timber veneered finish and fabric cushions.

The CAPAS chair was the first piece designed for the CAPAS range, and the result: a new take on its former design, rebuilt with 7mm double corrugated cardboard sheets put together vertically to maximize its strength. With its tanned leather lumbar cushion, and its signature surrounding leather belt, the chair holds the cardboard layers together with perfect harmony

The CAPAS range includes the CAPAS stool and the CAPAS table, which are also made out of layered cardboard sheets with leather and felt elements, light in weight, and surprisingly more durable than one would imagine.

CAPAS is the perfect blend of sharp lines and soft accessories. All pieces are put together individually by hand and come with their distinctive surrounding leather belt.

These unique pieces are rich in texture and a must have if you are a fan of paper and cardboard. They can also be made to order to suit specific size and colour requirements.
