Workshopped 2012 kicked off last week with a huge street party at the Hill street precinct, giving guests a chance to see some of the best in up-and-coming Australian Design.

As part of the exhibition the People’s Choice Awards will allow the public to cast their vote to select a winning designer. Voting can be online, is quick and easy, and beyond supporting Australian design gives you the chance to win some great prizes.

This year, following an intensive jury day at Winnings’ Redfern showroom, there were two major standout projects – and we simply couldn’t split them! Both refute any simplistic binary between architecture and interior design, and both are especially striking for their use of single materials and texture.
