Beauty Comes Natura(lly) To Life In Burleigh

Situated right on the Burleigh Heads Esplanade, directly across from one of Australia’s most spectacular beaches, Natura is the epitome of coastal sophistication and setting a new standard for luxury coastal living.

The natural beauty intrinsic to Burleigh Heads in Queensland is quite breathtaking, from stunning coastlines to beautiful hinterlands. So, it is only fitting that those who choose to call this locale home are inspired to embrace the magnificent natural environment, inviting it within their residences amid a nexus of design that approaches perfection. This is where Natura, the latest development by Spyre Group, a developer specialising in luxury residences, comes into its own.

Situated at the pinnacle of Burleigh Heads Esplanade, directly across from one of Australia’s most spectacular beaches, Natura is the epitome of coastal sophistication and will set a new standard for luxury coastal living upon its completion in January 2022. Conceived by Spyre Group in response to high demand for residential properties that inspire through design and technical innovation, Brisbane’s eminent, award-winning architecture practice bureau^proberts was appointed transform the vision of Natura into reality.

The premise of the brief and the aim of Natura was to harness the unique natural beauty of the surroundings, with both the architecture and interiors reflecting this through the highest quality design and appointments. Interpreted and realised by bureau^proberts, Natura’s architecture, landscape and interiors each rely on and enhance one another, forging a synergy that succeeds in capturing the essence of Burleigh Heads in a luxury residence.

The subtle and natural palette focuses on raw beauty and pays homage to the surrounding coast

With only a single floorplan option for all of the apartments, what was initially considered a risk, turned out to be hugely successful as every single element was thoughtfully considered and refined, leaving buyers wanting for nothing. The grandeur of the interiors incorporates sinuous curves reminiscent of the coastline, full height windows to take in the glorious views and an open plan design that provides an effortless connection between the kitchen, living and dining areas.

The coastline was also a strong point of inspiration for Natura’s façade. “Whilst the Burleigh Heads surf is widely recognised around the world as one of the southern hemispheres best beach breaks, it is the headland and coastline that add to the specialness of this location,” explains Kent Pinel, Design Manager at Spyre Group.

“The way the coast interacts with the Burleigh Hill combined with the cascading landscape that falls over the basalt headland were both key drivers for the design of Natura Burleigh Heads. From this we drew a subtle and natural palette, focusing on raw beauty and paying homage to the view across this amazing coast.”

Comprised of 33 residences set over 17 storeys, there are only two residences per floor. Each apartment features three bedrooms with uninterrupted ocean views and gives the impression of a standalone home with complete privacy, while allowing the occupants to feel at one with nature. The materiality of the interiors mimics the natural landscape, offering a rich textural palette that creates the sense of the home connecting seamlessly with the outdoors.

But the heart and soul of the homes, is the kitchen. Anchored by a natural stone island bench by Artedomus, premium joinery, porcelain panels and high-end Gaggenau appliances harmoniously culminate the space. With a development of this calibre, the selection of appliances was a key consideration and one that needed to not only uphold the high-standards of Natura, but offer buyers the best in terms of precision, functionality and design.

“The Gaggenau name provides our buyers assurance of the highest quality appliances and the design of the Gaggenau fixtures naturally complement the interior quality of the apartments,” says Kent. Each of the apartments in Natura feature a selection of Gaggenau 200 series appliances including a pyrolytic oven, compact combi-microwave oven, a 90cm flex induction cooktop, integrated rangehood and a fully integrated dishwasher.

The 200 series from Gaggenau has been designed for the culinary connoisseur. The recognisable yet understated aesthetic of the appliances doesn’t dominate the kitchen, yet promises all the culinary prowess that an ambitious private chef could hope for. The combination of the appliances selected offers an impressive versatility that inspires creativity in the kitchen.

As the residents of Natura experience a connection to the surrounding natural landscape with a lifestyle steeped in wellness and relaxation, so too can they experience a visceral connection with gourmet delights and a culinary exploration within their own home thanks to the masterpiece of a kitchen equipped with only the best of appliances: Gaggenau.
