Limitation breeds inspiration in the 4th instalment of 12x12 at Sydney’s aMBUSH Gallery.

It’s been 4 years since the first exhibition at aMBUSH Gallery, 12×12 returns in 2011. There’s a great, simple idea behind the exhibition – 12 Australian artists each displaying 12 artworks on 12×12 inch canvases.

 

The format, while offering certain limitations, asks the artists to create sharp, well-thought-out works, while helping to make art by some of Australia’s biggest names much more affordable.

 

 

 

This year there are some exciting additions including Daek, Drewfunk, Ears, Edward Woodley, Gary Seaman, Gimiks Born, Mark Alsweiler, Rone, Sean Morris, Shannon Crees, Shida and Troy Archer.

The exhibition runs from 22 – 31 July and the artworks will be available for sale online from 23 July at watim.com/12×12.
