In Melbourne HAY launched its new city flagship – the second in Australia – with an intimate and relaxed breakfast soiree. Set within the beautifully illustrated interiors of Collingwood’s Hope Street Radio, the breakfast event saw many of Melbourne’s lead design editors, photographers and revered stylists gather to enjoy delectable breakfast dishes.
Tables were set with colourful vases and summery blooms evoking a morning spent in the gardens. Over glasses of juice and coffee, guests caught up with the HAY team including special guests from HAY, and heard from Cult founder Richard Munao on his long friendship and history with HAY, which lead to the brand’s launch into the Australian market.
Following breakfast, guests enjoyed a leisurely walk up to Melbourne’s first HAY flagship, situated in the heart of Fitzroy at 176 Johnston Street. The store has already made a splash in its local neighbourhood with its colourful exteriors painted by artist Jasmine Mansbridge, and a monolithic counter of galactic patterning, designed by Adam Goodrum using recycled milk bottle caps. Not to mention all the enviable HAY goods housed within!
