There are six new products in the first collection for Australian brand UNDER, including lights and coat racks of various shapes and forms.
“The new collection came about after some time spent exploring design concepts for products that could be easily and efficiently manufactured in Australia,” designer, Kristian Aus tells us.

“The aim was to produce a range of products (initially lighting and coat racks/storage) that were interesting and unique and that followed the evolution of my particular visual style.”
Two wall racks explore very different materials in two very different ways. The wooden Dottie, with its Tasmanian Oak pegs, can be rearranged to suit your needs by pulling the pegs out or pusing them in. While the saw-tooth Triangulate is a simple powder-coated steel rack for keys, hats or mail.
“There are three main materials in the initial collection, steel, Tasmanian Oak and opal acrylic,” Kristian says.
“These three materials have particular associations for me that remind me of elements of Australia, such as heavy industry, the natural environment and the light on long summer days.”

The lighting range includes an adorable ‘Hut Pendant’ house-shaped light, the angular ‘Facet’ lightshade and the ‘Metal Petal’ pendant, which all employ powder-coated steel. There’s also the ‘Cornered Fluorescent’ light, which can be wall or ceiling mounted.
