Sarjaton means ‘no series’ in Finnish. It’s a range that redefines the freedom of flexibility. The essential parts that can be used whenever for whatever play as well together as by themselves.
Sarjaton is a modern interpretation of Finnish tradition. You can see it in the natural shapes and tones of the collection, inspired by old Finnish textures and textiles. Drawing from handicraft traditions, like the art of embroidery or braiding a basket, the designs of the patterns portray the soul of Finnish roots and culture.
Like the name suggests, Sarjaton is not a complete dinner set, rather it breaks away from the traditional and offers a modern collection of most used everyday dishes. Sarjaton gives you the power to decide which parts you like and need the most, and when to use them. Choose between just the essential parts, for your own personal rituals that are meaningful to you.
A classic range designed by Oiva Toikka in 1964, the Kastehelmi range is named after the word for ‘dewdrop’ in Finnish, in reference to the circles of bubbles in the pressed glass of the pieces.
