A bold Brisbane home serving up clever design

Sometimes a project stands out not just for its aesthetics, but for the stories in its creation. This was certainly the case for Same Same but Different House, a unique residence brought to life by Maytree Studios.

A Home built around Gatherings and a Rain Tree

The relationship between nature and architecture is clear in this project by ONG&ONG. As well as a sense of natural tactility in the materials, the family home in Singapore has been designed around a ‘colossal’ pre-war Rain Tree that existed on the site.

A Design informed by New Zealand History: Davis Bure house

Davis Bure House, sitting high upon a hillside at Whale Bay, Northland, is a thoughtful exploration of New Zealand’s history. Both colonial occupation of the land and the Maori response to that has been into consideration in the design, looking at how those events might be woven together.
