The undeniable heart of the home, the kitchen is a space for gathering, sharing and coming together, with cooking the foundational activity. Designed with as much attention on design as on function, the classic beauty of Sub-Zero and Wolf products is equally matched with exceptional cooking and cooling ability. It was this notion of hospitality and reliability that has brought the new Sub-Zero and Wolf showroom in Sydney to life.
The new showroom is set in the heart of Sydney’s Surry Hills, a renowned hotspot for design. An aspirational and hospitable space, designed to do more than showcase the product, but to inspire, educate and welcome visitors into the world of Sub-Zero and Wolf. The new showroom, designed by Adele Bates, shines a light on the incredible design possibilities that the Sub-Zero and Wolf brand offers across its ranges with a high-end fit-out that perfectly matches its heritage and diversity.
“The location and the building itself were critical to the design of the showroom. Heritage elements were so important to perfectly complement the heritage of the Sub-Zero and Wolf story. Designer Adele Bates interpreted the brief so effectively, creating an inspirational space for consumers and the design community that differentiates and highlights the diverse Sub-Zero and Wolf design styles,” says Andrew Mumford, Managing Director, Sub-Zero and Wolf, Australia, on the new showroom.
The space is divided into two key areas, set around an experiential journey that invites visitors to explore with ease. Through expert space planning, exceptional joinery and high quality materials, Adele Bates has created a showroom that is functional, tactile and sophisticated – the perfect complement to Sub-Zero’s refrigeration and Wolf’s cooking appliances.
At the back of the space, a discrete fluted glass door opens up to the demonstration kitchen and dining area. A change in colour and material palette signals a shift from the retail floor. Here, brushed brass, timber and mirrors feel more like a restaurant than a showroom, while the long dining table offers a unique sense of hospitality. The design of the Sub-Zero and Wolf showroom represents the synthesis of function and aesthetics, making an intimate connection between the visitor, the brand, and the appliances.
